Kung Fu

"Kung Fu" is generally an American term to describe Chinese styles of martial arts, of which there are many differing styles all over the world today. The most popular arts, like Karate, Taekwondo, Jujitsu and MMA, all trace their roots back to Kung Fu. Unfortunately, many modern styles have lost or removed certain foundational principles of circular motion, angles of attack, precision, mass, energy and redirection. Some of these arts have changed to adapt to different scenarios such as tournaments, sports, performances and simplified systems to train soldiers for combat.

In Red Tiger Kung Fu, you will learn the vital foundation and principles of advanced self-defense techniques as well as forms of Kung Fu and development of life skills. These skills include discipline, respect, courage, honor, humility and many more. "Kung Fu" literally means "Human Achievement".

What You Will Learn

Red Tiger Kung Fu will teach you to defend against attackers with and without weapons, against real-life, modern day fighting styles. You will learn the foundational principles and forms of Kung Fu, learning to use your attacker's energy and motion against them. You will learn to react with your skills naturally and at lightening speed.

You will learn Qi Gong, Iron Palm and learn to understand the meaning of the words "honor" and "inner peace". You will learn to be...

The Calm of the Storm

Honor

What is Honor?

Honor is accepting and acknowledging personal responsibility for one's actions. It is to show respect.

Honor is living wtih a sense of respect for what you believe is right. It is living by the virtues, by showing great respect for yourself, other people, and the rules you live by.              When you are honorable, there is no need to feel ashamed of who you are or what you are doing. You are worthy of respect and set a good example.

Why Practice Honor?

Without honor, people act disrespectfully and do things which make others and themselves feel ashamed. They do just what they want without caring about the virtues or whether it is right or wrong.

When someone is honorable, other people trust them to do what is right. Their word of honor means they will do exactly what they promise. People respect and look up to someone who is honorable.

Daily Affirmation

"I am honorable. I keep my agreements and treat others with respect. I live by the virtues. I care about doing the right thing."

Things of Honor to Think About

     Is there honor when....

You are mad at your mother or father for asking you to do something?

A friend tries to get you to steal money to go see a movie?

Everyone is teasing a child in the playground?

How can you make sure to keep your agreements?

How could you be honorable after making a mistake?

How can you be loyal to your friends and honorable to what you think is right, even when they dont?

Senior Advisors

Grand Master Anlin Wang

Grandmaster Wang is the Principal Master of the Wensheng School of Martial Arts, which can trace its building blocks back to the Han Dynasty and its specific forms to the 17th century.

Grandmaster Wang combined the essence of different styles of Chinese Wushu, such as Taiji, Qin Na, Xingyi, Bagua (the Eight Trigrams), Dacheng (Yi Fist), Baji (the Eight Extremities), Praying Mantis, Southern Fist, Shaolin, and Wudang with the teachings of Wensheng. By unifying the philosiphies and strategies behind all these schools of martial arts, he has reinvented Wensheng, bringing this ancient school of martial arts to an unprecidented level.
